1st Event

Patents, Prototype, and Product Development and Manufacturing- “From Concept to Prototype and Where to Manufacture Your First Product

Wondering how to take an idea from your head to a functioning prototype? Have a prototype and need to know how to sell it? Then this workshop will provide valuable information about the general steps that you can take to actually develop your idea into a product. Learn what’s needed to begin the manufacturing process, which industry professionals to contact, and what manufacturers require/expect from inventors (i.e. CAD designs, molds, non-disclosure agreements (NDA’s), etc.) as well as where to get it. Also learn how to select the best manufacturer (ex. USA, China, Mexico, etc.) and some of the hidden requirements for acquiring samples and placing initial orders (i.e. minimum order quantity (MOQ), number of samples, managing bad production runs, etc.)

2nd Event

IASL Presents: Ask the Expert Experienced Inventor, Patent Attorney, Manufacturer, Prototype Designer, and Entrepreneur About Best FREE Resources For Local Inventors and Entrepreneurs

Would you like to further explore the steps in product development and launch or learn about ways to receive free ongoing assistance to further the development of your business idea, market your business or product for FREE, secure funding for your business via Venture Capitalist or Crowdfunding, and more? This workshop will provide participants with an opportunity to pose questions to a panel of experienced entrepreneurs, inventors, patent attorneys, business consultants, and community advocates to gain knowledge about available and ongoing business assistance available, available funding sources, entrepreneurial competitions taking place, and other entrepreneurial resources available to inventors and entrepreneurs throughout St. Louis year-round.


Whether now launching an entrepreneurial venture, or continuing on an inventive path, you WILL NOT want to miss miss these two fun and educational presentations! Please note that this meeting will be at a VENTURE CAFÉ! See Details Below.

Post-Keynote Meet & Greet  —

Before and after the keynote presentation, we anticipate another productive meet-and-greet, in which the St. Louis Inventor community can meet with Larry Opinsky and the IASL Directors.

My fellow Directors — who consist of leaders from their respective fields of invention, manufacturing, intellectual property law, research, finance, engineering, and marketing — are always eager to lend an ear or offer advice whenever needed.
