ABOUT JONAH WHITE —

Jonah White was born October 24, 1969 in Cook County Illinois just outside of

Chicago. Jonah was raised in a family of 6, and both of his parents were exceptionally intellectual. Before attending Stanford, Jonah’s father John was raised as a Native American and attended reservation school in Oklahoma. Jonah’s mother, Ella, was a writer and graduated from Swarthmore. The White family moved to rural Western Illinois to live in an eighteenth century log cabin with no running water when Jonah was in the 3rd grade. Jonah was raised in the old ways!

By 1985 Jonah developed a love for football. He attended Calhoun High School and in 1987 led the football team to its first state championship game; and he also lead the state of Illinois and possibly the nation in rushing yards that year (2,153). Despite this achievement, Jonah was not offered a football scholarship to any university.

In 1988 Jonah decided to walk on at Southwest Missouri State University. In 1989 Jonah earned a partial scholarship and played on the university’s first playoff championship season. Jonah played in every game from 1989 to 1992. He was named all conference and player of the year in 1992. In 2007 the Bears former head coach Jess Branch made the statement that Jonah was “the toughest player” he ever coached in his 35 year career. Jonah graduated from Southwest Missouri State University with a biology degree, and a minor in art.

In the fall of 1994, Jonah was in attendance on the sideline of a home game at his alma mater. It was at this home game in the Plaster Sports Complex, where Jonah first saw the invention (Billy-Bob Teeth) that would make him world famous.

In 1995 Jonah White founded the Billy-Bob Teeth Company at his parent’s log cabin in rural Illinois. He used his entire savings of $400 to found the company. Jonah was living at home with his parents and did not own an automobile at the time. By 1998 the Billy-Bob Teeth Company had become the largest employer in Calhoun County Illinois, where it is still thriving today.

Jonah never forgot his roots and built his own log cabin over the hill from where he was raised. In addition to his 4 children and wife Renee (Honeybuns) the White household has hundreds of exotic animals ranging from highland cattle, horses, big horn sheep to a timber wolf and black bear (Nibbles). The entire ranch spans for more than 1,000 acres and was showcased on numerous publications and reality TV shows. Most recently, on the Discovery Channel’s “Billy-Bob’s Gags-to-Riches”.

Jonah White is currently — among other things — a motivational speaker. He has a very simple, rugged, primitive message to give to the world. Don’t let anything hold you back in life. Make the right decisions, not from luck but from planning. Choose to do things in life that will make you proud forever!

Before and after the keynote presentation, we anticipate another productive meet-and-greet, in which the St. Louis Inventor community can share a beverage with Jonah White and the IASL Directors.

My fellow Directors — who consist of leaders from their respective fields of invention, manufacturing, intellectual property law, research, finance, engineering, and marketing — are always eager to lend an ear or offer advice whenever needed. Please do not hesitate to reach out at the meeting, if you feel that one or more Directors can be of assistance! You can read the biographies of our Directors HERE.

Also, we expect a sizable turnout for this meeting, so the offline discussions and networking opportunities networking should be extra-special.
